4th of July FUN!

We had a wonderful fourth of July weekend. It was lovely to have Jeremy home for a three day weekend. It's funny because I feel like it's the weekend until mid August. I sometimes forget that Jeremy needs to go to work. On Friday night, we went to our golf course where they were having the fireworks. They open up the green and set up a band and have food vendors. It's lots of fun. Elle loves to dance so it was perfect. She hung out on the blanket and then ran up to the stage to check out the music and continued to go back and forth. Fun. ;) We didn't end up staying for the fireworks as Elle had a busy day and was quite tired. We saw fireworks earlier this month at Celebrate South Riding (another festival in our town) so it was all good. On Saturday, we were invited to a friend's house for a BBQ. There were lots of little kids as many of our friends have had little ones recently and Elle enjoyed playing with them. She ran around in the yard and just generally enjoyed being outside. We have found that if we want to keep her happy in the evenings we just need to head outside and she's good for at least a half an hour. On Sunday we were still having lots of fun. A co-worker and friend, Jen, had a birthday party for her son Andrew. He turned one. Elle had not had a nap and we thought we wouldn't last long. She was such a trooper and was having a blast. We ended up being the last to leave. Crazy! She loves Andrew and really loves his toys. We need to work on sharing and not pushing people down when she wants something. I don't think she quite understands that, but we hope she'll develop some manners as she gets older. She was so tired after the party that she could not wake up to eat any dinner. She snacked at the party so we just called it a night and she is currently upstairs peacefully sleeping. Tomorrow is Monday and we're sad that Daddy needs to return to work. Lots of fun is in store for Elizabeth and Mommy though! We have story time at the library on Tuesday, pool time with a co-worker on Tuesday, and my sister arrives on Thursday evening ot spend the weekend with us! The best thing of all is that in a little over a week we're taking a family vacation and it's not to Iowa!! We're going to Cape Cod. We'll spend 5 days in a cottage on the beach with our awesome neighbors (a few blocks over anyway). I sure hope Elle loves the sand and water. I am sure she'll try to eat some. We're home for a week and then off to Iowa to see family and Jeremy's brother get married to a great girl...Jamie! It's a busy summer and I think it's going to fly by.
